By accessing or using Ileum ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

2. Description of Service

Ileum is a mobile application and web service designed to help users manage Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) through:

  • Symptom and food tracking
  • Low-FODMAP diet protocol guidance
  • AI-powered insights and pattern recognition
  • Educational content about IBS and gut health
  • Gamification features to encourage healthy habits

3. Medical Disclaimer

IMPORTANT: Ileum is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition.

The information provided by Ileum is for general informational purposes only and should not be considered medical advice. Always consult with a qualified healthcare provider before making any changes to your diet, medication, or treatment plan.

If you are experiencing severe symptoms, please seek immediate medical attention. Do not disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of information provided by Ileum.

4. User Accounts

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Be responsible for all activities under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent activity.

5. Subscription and Payments

5.1 Free and Paid Plans

Ileum offers both free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans provide access to additional features as described on our pricing page.

5.2 Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. Payment is processed securely through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.

5.3 Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the app or by contacting support. Upon cancellation:

  • You will retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period
  • No refunds will be provided for partial billing periods
  • Your account will revert to the free plan after the subscription ends

Refund requests may be considered on a case-by-case basis within 14 days of purchase. Contact support@ileum.app for assistance.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Upload malicious code or content
  • Impersonate another person or entity
  • Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its content, features, and functionality, is owned by Ileum and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of any data you input into the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to use your data solely to provide and improve the Service.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ILEUM SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR HEALTH OUTCOMES.

Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Ileum operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
